A Word from the Chairman
The Association of Winery Cooperatives of South Tyrol currently has 14 members. Due to several mergers, the number of members has fallen in recent years, although production has risen as a proportion of overall production in South Tyrol.
The winery cooperatives produce and market around 70% of all of South Tyrol’s wine. A wine growing region with such a high proportion of cooperatives, which at the same time - with over 90% of its producers being DOC classified - is at the forefront of Italy’s quality wine production, is probably unique worldwide.
